ABOUT THE AUTHOR
"Beverly's
professional work experience includes over15 years of employment at the National
Broadcasting Company (NBC) in New York City, where she was executive secretary
to several NBC News presidents, including Reuven Frank and Larry Grossman. She
was also executive assistant to Tim Russert, currently the host of "Meet
The Press." Based on her performance, she was promoted to the network's
corporate suite, managing the offices of CEO's Grant Tinker and Robert C.
Wright.
While working in New
York, she founded POLISHED ACTS, INC. in 1984, which was a community youth
organization offering a social and life skills training program to young men and
women, graduating over 300 youths. Her service to the community earned her a
citation in the Congressional Record in April of 1986 by her then Congressman
Peter Rodino. She also received Outstanding Young Woman in America Award for
volunteer service to the YWCA of the Oranges, 1985. Beverly left NBC in 1991 to
give greater service to the ministry and aide to her husband in his increasing
ministerial responsibilities. In her first book, "Saved and Beautiful"
she shared much of her training received at the Ophelia De Vore School of Charm
graduating "Most Outstanding Student" in New York with Christian
women.
Beverly has been an
evangelist and Bible teacher for over 10 years. She is currently completing a
master’s degree at Alliance Theological Seminary, Nyack N.Y. Before she
married, she was a single mom who established a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ.
Today, she is the
wife of Bishop Joseph C. Allen, pastor of Bethesda Temple in Newark, New Jersey,
affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. In Bethesda Temple,
she is an associate minister, Director of the Women’s Ministry Department, and
an instructor of Discipleship Classes for new converts.
